John Fleming

I'm the president and founder of The Fleming Agency Inc., a public relations consulting and services firm providing strategic counsel to business, nonprofit and governmental leaders. The agency is based in Tallahassee -- the capital of Florida, and a great place to live and raise a family.

I specialize in public relations, media relations, public affairs, corporate communications and grassroots advocacy.

After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in journalism and beginning a career as a journalist, I left the newspaper industry in 2002 to work for one of the state capital’s leading public relations firms, Herrle Communications Group. As a spokesman and counselor, I've worked alongside many of Florida’s top elected and appointed officials, advocacy organizations and media outlets.

I developed my applied knowledge of public relations during two statewide amendment campaigns and more than six years experience managing external communications for corporate and nonprofit clients.

My practical experience in public relations includes strategic planning, crisis communications, public opinion research, message and brand development, and creative production for Internet, TV, print and radio. I've worked on local, state and federal issues including retail trade, economic development, tax policy, growth management, water policy, tobacco control, beverage law, civil justice, and outdoor advertising.

I like volunteering in my community, and I'm fortunate to serve on the Executive Committee of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of Turn About Inc., and to be a member of Leadership Tallahassee Class 26. I'm accredited in public relations by the Universal Accreditation Board.

I'm also a proud husband to Allie Merzer Fleming and father to newborn Solomon.
